Ok, il problema è il firmware.
Scarica il file che ti allego, scompattalo e copia la directory "b43" in "/lib/firmware".
Poi fai

Ok, errore mio.
Prova a riscaricare l'archivio compresso e copiare la directory "b43" in "/lib/firmware" e rifare la procedura precedente.

Ma in /lib/firmware c'è già la directory b43, che è quella che ho copiato prima...devo quindi cancellarla e rifare tutto da capo?

Puoi anche sovrascriverla, fai come ti è più comodo (tanto si tratta di un "rm -R /lib/firmware/b43 && cp -R b43 /lib/firmware" che richiede al massimo 2 minuti).

ciao a tutti! mi accorpo a questo post perchè ho un problema del tutto analogo!

ho correttamente installato il wicd ed anche il wicd-client-kde, inanzi tutti cos'è la "gui" di wicd (o di un programma in generale), la spia della rete wireless è accesa, ma nell'icona del wicd-client-kde sul pannello non vedo nessuna rete wireless (ma neanche via cavo se è solo pre questo) ad ogni modo vi posto un po di comandi sul mio wireless:

1) È inutile che fai grep su "b43": i tuoi driver sono gli iwl3945 che sono implementati nel kernel da parecchio tempo.
2) Devi controllare di aver installato il pacchetto del firmware (che fa parte della serie "n").
3) Hai disabilitato "/etc/rc.d/rc.inet1"?
4) Hai provato ad usare la gui normale?

si, sono riuscito a selezionare la rete wireless e funge correttamente, quindi per me la questione è a posto.

un ultima cosa: nelle preferenze, il DHCP Client è settato su DHCPCD, mentre io per la wired utilizzavo dhclient, è normale che sia così o la selezione mi si è spostata in automatico? perchè?
