RISOLTO - Impossibile accedere come utente in kde

Se avete problemi con l'installazione e la configurazione di Slackware postate qui. Non usate questo forum per argomenti generali... per quelli usate Gnu/Linux in genere.

Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata, la versione del Kernel e magari anche la versione della libreria coinvolta. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Per evitare confusione prego inserire in questo forum solo topic che riguardano appunto Slackware, se l'argomento è generale usate il forum Gnu/Linux in genere.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute.
4) Scrivere i messaggi con il colore di default, evitare altri colori.
5) Scrivere in Italiano o in Inglese, se possibile grammaticalmente corretto, evitate stili di scrittura poco chiari, quindi nessuna abbreviazione tipo telegramma o scrittura stile SMS o CHAT.
6) Appena registrati è consigliato presentarsi nel forum dedicato.

La non osservanza delle regole porta a provvedimenti di vari tipo da parte dello staff, in particolare la non osservanza della regola 5 porta alla cancellazione del post e alla segnalazione dell'utente. In caso di recidività l'utente rischia il ban temporaneo.

RISOLTO - Impossibile accedere come utente in kde

Ho installato la Slack 14 e aggiornato a Kde 4.10.5 di alien bob, ma dopo qualche tempo l'utente da me creato non funziona più, quando vi accedo mi appare lo schermo nero; ho ricreato un nuovo utente ma nulla, sempre schermo nero ed è la terza volta che mi succede dopo aver reinstallato la slackware.

Scheda video: nVidia Corporation G92 [GeForce 9800 GT] (rev a2)
Cpu: Intel Core TM 2 Quad Q 8300 2.50 Ghz
Ram: 2 GB

Non ti funziona più dopo quanto tempo? O meglio, cosa hai cambiato/installato nel frattempo?
Quando hai creato l'utente ti sei assicurato che fosse nel gruppo video?
Te lo fa solo KDE?
Che versione di driver Nvidia hai? Hai provato nel caso ad aggiornare?
Come ultima tentativo puoi provare a disabilitare i driver Nvida ed usare i Vesa, tanto per capire se è un problema di driver video.

Oppure puoi provare a disabilitare il compositing in KDE con il comando

o modificando il file ~/.kde4/share/config/kwinrc, cercando nella sezione [compositing] una linea del tipo "Enabled = True", da cambiare in "False".
Se non esiste il file prova a crearlo con il parametro che ti ho detto

Se non ho capito male, dice che come root non gli succede. Quindi, potrebbe essere un problema di permessi su qualche eseguibile non correttamente installato?

Potrebbe essere che non fa parte del gruppo video e quindi non può sfruttare l'accelerazione hardware della scheda video.
@ermastr: forse avere i logs di X potrebbe aiutare a capire il problema ;)

Potrebbe essere che non fa parte del gruppo video e quindi non può sfruttare l'accelerazione hardware della scheda video.

No perchè per un paio di mesi ha funzionato ed inoltre l'utente apparteneva al gruppo video

Dal log che hai allegato ho notato alcune cose.
La prima è che nonostante tu abbia installato Slackware 14.0, il kernel è il 3.2.28:

e questo è strano, perché la 14.0 stock aveva il 3.2.29, che comunque è stato aggiornato al 3.2.45.
Ma hai installato da pulito oppure hai fatto l'aggiornamento? Il secondo caso mi sembra più probabile ;)
Un'altra cosa che è riportata nel log è che non trova i driver nouveau e fb:

ma carica il nv:

Tutto questo per dire... hai provato a mettere nelle opzioni di boot in lilo.con il parametro nomodeset?
Mi ricordo che anche io, quando installai la 14.0 ebbi dei problemi all'avvio di KDE (4.8.5) ed ho risolto mettendo in black-list il modulo nouveau (poi rimosso del tutto), installando i drivers proprietari Nvida (ma non dovrebbe essere rilevante) e inserendo quel parametro nel lilo.conf. Non so bene se influisca anche sul funzionamento del modulo nv, prova e fammi sapere.
Oppure, se non hai niente in contrario, prova ad installare i drivers proprietari, di solito funzionano meglio di quelli open :-$

No, il parametro nomodeset deve essere dato fra quelli in append, ovvero se tu hai nel lilo.conf una riga del tipo
append="vt.default_utf8=0"

deve diventare
append="vt.default_utf8=0 nomodeset"

Poi esegui come utente root
lilo -v

riavvi e vedi se qualcosa è cambiato.

riavvi e vedi se qualcosa è cambiato.


Ho installato i driver nvidia e aggiunto la riga a lilo e al riavvio quando entro nell'utente lo schermo resta sempre nero #-o .

Credo che a questo punto l'ipotesi di un problema di permessi come ipotizzato da sixjan sia da prendere seriamente in considerazione.
Dovresti provare a reinstallare tutto kde
Codice: Seleziona tutto
upgradepkg --install-new --reinstall *kde-packages

e successivamente rinominare la ~/.kde in ~/.kdeold, in modo da avere un'ambiente KDE pulito.
Se anche così non ti funziona, potrebbero essere problemi su altri binari, tipo quelli di X oppure su alcune librerie, ma la faccenda si complica :roll:

Avevate ragione, =D> in effetti prima di aggiornare Kde mi ero dimenticato di rinominare la directory .kde della Home e in effetti quando avevo modificato la linea di lilo (append="vt.default_utf8=0 nomodeset") erano cambiati alcuni permessi, tipo non riuscivo più a montare la chiavetta e altro

La prima è che nonostante tu abbia installato Slackware 14.0, il kernel è il 3.2.28

in effetti è strano poiché nella directory a del dvd d'installazione c'è il kernel 3.2.29

Grazie molte per l'aiuto :) , disperavo, ma devo ammettere che la Slack, nonostante il casino dei permessi, è molto malleabile e se mi succedeva su windows avrei dovuto formattare il tutto probabilmente.
