Risolvere problemi in dmesg e syslog.

Postate qui per tutte le discussioni legate a Linux in generale.

Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata, la versione del Kernel e magari anche la versione della libreria coinvolta. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Per evitare confusione prego inserire in questo forum solo topic che riguardano appunto Gnu/Linux in genere, se l'argomento è specifico alla Slackware usate uno dei forum Slackware o Slackware64.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute
4) Scrivere i messaggi con il colore di default, evitare altri colori.
5) Scrivere in Italiano o in Inglese, se possibile grammaticalmente corretto, evitate stili di scrittura poco chiari, quindi nessuna abbreviazione tipo telegramma o scrittura stile SMS o CHAT.
6) Appena registrati è consigliato presentarsi nel forum dedicato.

La non osservanza delle regole porta a provvedimenti di vari tipo da parte dello staff, in particolare la non osservanza della regola 5 porta alla cancellazione del post e alla segnalazione dell'utente. In caso di recidività l'utente rischia il ban temporaneo.

Salve voglio cominciare a risolvere dei problemi che non si fanno sentire effettivamente, ma ci sono.

comunque controlla quelle voci che ti ho detto, per cominciare.. EISA sta tra i device firmware, se non ricordo male, comunque sotto o subito dopo ISA..

Allora le opzioni per il supporto EISA si trovano sotto Bus option, come dicevi te sotto ISA.

no in realtà dovresti vedere se viene usato il modulo EISA, quindi dovresti fare un lspci -k e controlla meglio..
comunque io intendevo dire che magari il supporto non era attivato, tu hai capito il contrario.. :)

tutti i nomi dei moduli sono in minuscolo.. e grep è case sensitive.. prova solo con lspci -k
se il pc è vecchiotto potresti davvero averne bisogno, ed è comunque strano quell'avviso se non hai device di quel tipo.. certo puoim provare a rimuovere quel modulo dal kernel se davvero non è caricato ed usato e vedere se i warning ad esso relativi scompaiono..
per il resto c'è ancora da studiare i log.. appena ho un po' di tempo controllo meglio e vedo se mi viene in mente qualcosa.. ora vedrai anche che si farà avanti qualcun altro a suggerirti il da fare

per avere i vecchi slot isa/eisa il tuo picci dovrebbe avere quasi 10 anni e forse piu'.
inoltre lspci fa vedere appunto le schede pci.. per verificare la presenza di slot di solito scuri e molto piu' lunghi di uno slot pci(di tipo isa) devi purtroppo aprire il case perchè mi pare che non ci sia altro modo.

quindi i warning che ricevi sono dovuti probabilmente al fatto che il supporto è inglobato staticamente e non come modulo, perciò viene caricato ma non trova nulla.. per me, una volta assodato che non hai slot isa puoi tranquillamente toglierlo.
per le altre cose non saprei aiutarti molto, anche se ad occhio l'errore sul pae non mi sembra un errore, ma piuttosto un affermazione

e lo stesso si trova nel syslog, quindi da quanto riesco a capire io, pare che gli slot ci siano (addirittura 8?????) ma nessun device sia installato..

però resta ancora qualcosa che non mi convince, non so bene..
comunque, anche in lspci si trova un ISA bridge, che dovrebbe essere una specie i emulazione ISA usata da un device PCI, ho anche io sula MB un device simile..

anche io mi sono trovato facendo un lspci un bridge isa.. peccato che stia su un portatile acquistato 2 mesi fa :shock:
googlando un po' non ho trovato granchè, ma apparentemente nel mio caso è effettivamente un ponte fra device isa e device pci che però serve per collegare device particolari (sospetto sia il lettore di impronte digitali)
ho visto cose che voi astemi non potete immaginare

Quindi se ho capito bene dovrei togliere dal menuconfig, il supporto isa e mettere quello eisa?
Comunque io ho il case aperto nel mio pc, perchè ci monto e smonto spesso varie cose, quindi se mi dite bene le caratteristiche che devo guardare per vedere se ho bus isa o eisa lo posso fare subito.
I tre bus in fondo sono praticamente uguali sulla mia scheda madre http://forums.legitreviews.com/images/r ... si_k9n.jpg. Non dovrebbero centrare?

io non ti consiglio di togliere né ISA né EISA, almeno per ora..
comunque sicuramente non hai slot ISA sulla tua MB. quindi se, ripeto, con lspci -k lo slot ISA dice di usare un tipo di driver diverso lo potresti anche disabilitare..

comunque ora mi sono guardato meglio il tuo dmesg.. ma c'è qualcosa che non ti funziona? qualcosa che va storto o che si comporta in modo strano? A me pare non ci siano errori, niente di grave, almeno.. solo normalissimi warnings!

ma, ripeto, sono warnings.. avvisi, ovverosia..
ad esempio: da quanto vedo non usi il raid.. ne lvm.. eppure prima il kernel e poi anche slackware cercano di default se hai settato il PC con queste tecniche ì, una volta che non trova nulla, ti avvisa del fatto.. e a te pare un'errore!
per questo dovresti rimuovere il supporto raid al kernel, di netto.. ti faccio un esempio, non dico che devi toglierlo: io l'ho fatto, ma ognuno compie le sue proprie scelte, in questo tipo di cose, visto che magari un giorno potrebbe anche servire, chissà!
