ciao a tutti !!!

ho da risolvere questo inghippo...

ho 2 drive usb esterni : 1 maxtor (che la mia slack 13.1 32bit vede tutto l'interno e monta) e 1 iomega (che si vede ma non visualizzo il contenuto) che c'è ma dentro risulta vuoto.

con ubuntu, mac e windows vedo tutto e funziona tutto. entrambi i suddetti dischi hanno ntfs come file system. sulla mia slack il pacchetto ntfs-3g è installato ed è aggiornato.

Con il disco Iomega collegato,prendi i log di dmesg e poi riporta anche il contenuto /etc/mtab

Se da console usi "cfdisk /dev/tuo_disco_iomega", riesci a vedere la partizione NTFS?

Siete pregati di leggere le regole prima di postare.
Se si vuole postare qualsiasi tipo di codice siete pregati di usare il tag "code /code"
sopratutto se il listato è lungo. si producono pagine lunghe e illeggibili altrimenti.

Allora,innanzitutto con cfdisk devi usare i device non le label !!!
Quindi:
cfdisk /dev/sdg
Il sistema ti ha montato la partizione sdg1,la partizione viene vista correttamente.

Prova comunque a fare così come root:

Dopo di che vai in /mnt/hd e dicci se vedi qualcosa

giuro che non capisco. vi dico che in una precedente formattazione di slackware ahimè necessaria (kernel panic) questo hd usb il sistema lo leggeva. mah...

Configurando /etc/fstab a dovere non dovrai ripetere a ogni riavvio. Ad esempio:

Per completezza, un kernel panic non implica formattazione necessaria: avresti potuto accedere lo stesso da live con chroot, e a quel punto potevi giocarti tutte le carte (ricompilazione dopo aver aggiustato il tuo config, reinstallazione del generic di default e ricreazione dell'initrd, reinstallazione dell'huge di default).
E comunque se posso darti il consiglio dei consigli, mantenere (almeno) due kernel contemporaneamente, di cui uno abbondantemente collaudato e funzionante, è sempre una buona prassi da non trascurare.
