Driver radeon non funzionanti

Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata e la versione del Kernel. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Citare il tipo di hardware coinvolto in modo dettagliato.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute
4) Scrivere i messaggi con il colore di default, evitare altri colori.
5) Scrivere in Italiano o in Inglese, se possibile grammaticalmente corretto, evitate stili di scrittura poco chiari, quindi nessuna abbreviazione tipo telegramma o scrittura stile SMS o CHAT. Non usare termini gergali come procio, mobo e simili per identificare i componenti hardware.
6) Appena registrati è consigliato presentarsi nel forum dedicato.

La non osservanza delle regole porta a provvedimenti di vari tipo da parte dello staff, in particolare la non osservanza della regola 5 porta alla cancellazione del post e alla segnalazione dell'utente. In caso di recidività l'utente rischia il ban temporaneo.

Driver radeon non funzionanti

Ciao. Ho una scheda video ATI Radeon 9800. (Posto l'output di lspci per sicurezza).

Quando però faccio caricare i driver Radeon generic inclusi nella slackware, il server X non parte. Se invece carico un driver VESA generic allora va. Con i driver prioprietari funziona. I driver Radeon sembrano essere a posto perchè li ho reinstallati più di una volta credendo fosse lì il problema.
Posto pure il file xorg.conf di adesso con i driver VESA caricati:

Hai reinstallato mesa dopo aver rimosso i driver proprietari?
I driver ATI hanno il brutto vizio di andare a sovrascivere la libreria libGL.so e di non ripristinarla in caso vengano rimossi.

Non li ho rimossi quelli proprietari. Comunque anche prima di installare i proprietari, quelli radeon open non andavano.

Questo potrebbe causarti problemi per la già citata questione.
Posta il log di xorg (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) dopo aver selezionato come driver "radeon" e aver tentato di far partire X.

Dri non lo caricavo neanche prima. AIGLX ho supposto corrispondesse alla voce "load glx" in xorg.conf e l'ho commentato. Ma anche così non vanno.

Non è la prima volta che sento problemi con i drivers video open e le ATI doppie, ovvero le schede 2 in 1... Come la tua!! Controlla che nella sezione Device ci sia il BusID corretto!!
Inoltre controlla che ci siano i moduli del kernel correttamente caricati, perché nel tuo log di X vedo problemi a caricare il /dev/dri/card0... Controlla quindi che ci siano "radeon, drm ed agpgart"...

Dato che comunque non voglio far dei danni, mi puoi dire qual'è il BusID corretto e nel caso, dove devo guardare per saperlo?
Suppongo che bisogna guardare lspci. A quale dei due BusID devo fare riferimento?

Ora... Non so a quale delle due corrisponde!!! Quante uscite ha la tua scheda?? In teoria (ma è solo teoria), la prima scheda (la 01:00.0) dovrebbe essere per la prima uscita video (di solito quella VGA con connettore blu)... Mentre la seconda dovrebbe essere per l'uscita DVI... Ma non so se corrisponda al tuo caso!!

Intato ti ringrazio dell'aiuto che mi stai dando.
Poi ho provato con entrambi i BusID ma non funziona. Ho caricato correttamente i moduli che mi hai detto, aggiungendo le dovute righe in Section "module"(credo si faccia così), ma ancora niente.

I moduli in questione non sono parte di X, ma sono moduli del kernel!!

Ho cercato di seguire quello che hai fatto te nel tuo xorg.conf ma non sono ancora riuscito a farla funzionare. Ho notato una cosa: se metto nella sezione "Device" della scheda video il BusID 1:0:0 come errore mi da "No matching Device Section for instance BusID 1:0:1" o qualcosa del genere. Se metto BusID 1:0:1 mi dice invece che non c'è nessuna sezione Device per il BusID 1:0:0. Sembra quasi che voglia due sezioni Device, non due monitor.

PS:Di queste cose ho ancora molto da imparare per cui non mi esprimo molto bene.
