configurazione video SiSM661MX

Salute a tutti,
spiego in breve il problema, ho un portatile acer con scheda video SiSM661MX
se configuro xorg con il driver generico sis e riavvio il server X questo non viene
avviato. RIsulta questo messaggio d'errore:

FATAL SERVER ERROR
no screens found

Con i driver vesa invece il server X viene avviato, ma non riesco a regolare
decentemente il monitor in quanto e' un 15,4" e purtroppo i vesa non mi
consentono il 1280x800 ne a 24 ne a 32 bit.
Aiuti e suggerimenti sono ben accetti

posta il file /etc/X11/xorg.conf

e il modello esatto del portatile....

penso che il problema sia nella parte screen o monitor non nella sezione della scheda grafica visto che hai messo i driver giusti e la tua scheda è supportata

Dunque, il portatile e' un Acer Aspire 2500, il fatto che non trovasse il monitor
mi sono reso conto che era effettivamente un mio errore, adesso il monitor
lo trova e riesce a partite, il problema e' diventato un altro, materialmente
l'immaggine e' sfocata, in continuo movimento e se la si lascia un po' il
risultato sembra catastrofico, come se il monitor stesse per esplodere :shock:
con i driver vesa invece tutto funziona tranne 1280x800

Sorry, ti ho detto la serie e non il modello, a volte mi capita di essere eccessivamente
rinco quando sono sotto esame :lol:
il modello e' Acer Aspire 3502 WLMi

la riga

l'aveo gia' modificata e poi riportata allo stato originale dato che non funzionava.
Ora c'e' la parte divertente, nel manuale del mio portatile mancano le frequenze
del monitor, nelle specifiche "Display e Grafica" del monitor si dice solo:

LCD TFT a colori 15.4" Acer CrystalBrite con risoluzione pixel 1280x800
Ho cercato sul sito Acer ma non ho trovato nulla. :shock:

Pensavo... dato che non riesco a trovare nulla, e non credo che mi rispondano
ne al call-center, ne alle mail (come e' gia' successo in passato) che si sappia
esistono tool tipo il vecchio SuperProbe che siano in grado di trovare le freq.

non funziona perchè probabilmente le freq orizzontali e verticali sono errate

ora non mi funziona bene internet ... non posso cercare...

p.s. ma il portatile ora funziona bene? lo hanno riparato? hai pagato?

Funziona bene, non ho pagato nulla altrimenti li avrei denunciati e gli stavo pure
facendo causa per tutto il tempo che mi hanno fatto perdere, durante il quale
non ho potuto fare assistenza.
Sul mio LCD non ho trovato un cavolo :!:

soluzione:
1) ho trovato delle freq di un portatile acer con penso più o meno il tuo monitor...

Acer Aspire 3613WLCi

2) prova con knoppix .... la scarichi e la avvii così vedi le freq che rileva e provi con quelle anche in slack

soluzione migliore: 2 perchè knoppix ha un tool che rileva e crea il file xorg.conf al volo ..... quindi io le copierei da lì.... anzi copia tutto il file xorg.conf creato da knoppix poi postalo che ne tiriamo fuori uno finale funzionante. (io non userei quello creato da knoppix perchè cambierebbero i commenti e altri cose che non sarebbero più slackware... quindi meglio vedere le parti interessanti)

prova mettere le freq verticali e orizzontali rilevate da knoppix nel file xorg.conf di slack editandolo e ad aggiungere la risoluzione 1280x800 e vedi se adesso funziona.

al massimo io proverei anche con una knoppix più recente, oppure prova anche i valori che avevo postato io....

nulla, ho provato di tutto ma non funge bene in nessun modo
momentaneamente mi rassegno, il server parte ma risulta
sfalsata l'immagine.
