Zenwalk problema installazione xfburn da sorgenti...!
ho provato ada installare xfburn(prelevato come sorgente dal repo svn...) da sorgenti dando i comandi:
./configure
make
make install
come faccio a vedere se l'installazione è riuscita considerato il fatto che non trovo l'icona nel menù di xfce? e non conosco il comando per avviarlo....?

in linea di massima si guarda quello che ti dice il configure, se è andato tutto bene allora si da make, se è andato tutto bene si da make install
Se è andato tutto bene avrai un nuovo file binario di nome xfburn. Se non sai dove l'ha installato guarda un po' nei percorsi di default tipo /usr/local/bin (che comunque dovrebbe essere nel tuo path). Quindi basta che da console scrivi xfburn e vedi che esce scritto, e magari se da qualche errore lo incolli qui
Se è andato tutto bene avrai un nuovo file binario di nome xfburn. Tutti e 3 quando non vanno a buon fine terminano con un errore. Il configure controlla il tuo sistema se è in grado di compilare, se ha le librerie necessarie, che versione di queste librerie ha e crea il Makefile, che sarebbero le istruzioni per il make
Il make compila, in genere non è necessario farlo da root, e scriverà righe e righe di debug, del quale puoi fregartene altamente.
Quando finirà devi controllare le ultime righe. Se c'è scritto error ad esempio "make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1" allora qualcosa è andato storto, altrimenti dai make install (da root solo se vuoi istallare). Il make install copia i file dalla directory corrente a quella specificata durante il configure. Anche il make install scriverà parecchie cose, devi semplicemente vedere se alla fine c'è scritto qualche Error (ad esempio se non sei root ti dirà qualche permission denied). Se non c'è nessun error sei a cavallo e lanci l'eseguibile che hai installato.

oltre quanto detto sopra invece di fare make install si può usare checkinstall che crea un pacchetto e lo installa, in questo modo potrai disinstallare il programma compilato usando removepkg a vere un sistema più in ordine. Alcune volte checkinstall non funziona a dovere però. La cosa migliore per avere un pacchetto a regola d'arte e' usare lo slackbuild.
