Accelerazione 3d e ATI Radeon 8500

Usate questo forum per richieste di aiuto e consigli sull'hardware montato nelle vostre macchine con GNU/Linux Slackware.

Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata e la versione del Kernel. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Citare il tipo di hardware coinvolto in modo dettagliato.

6) Appena registrati è consigliato presentarsi nel forum dedicato.

La non osservanza delle regole porta a provvedimenti di vari tipo da parte dello staff, in particolare la non osservanza della regola 5 porta alla cancellazione del post e alla segnalazione dell'utente. In caso di recidività l'utente rischia il ban temporaneo.

Accelerazione 3d e ATI Radeon 8500

Salve a tutti. Vi scrivo per il semplice motivo come si fa a abilitare l'accelerazione 3d di una ATI Radeon 8500 su Slackware 13? Devo per forza installare i driver? E se si, devo per forza seguire la procedura sul wiki? :roll:

ciao,

di default con gli open dovresti rtrovarti con l'accelerazione 3d abilitata, puoi provare ad abilitare gli effeti dal pannelo di kde.

Ho la maggior parte degli effetti attivi di kde intendo, vedo anche benissimo i video anche quelli su youtube. Ma non era quello il punto. Ho deciso di provare Tuxracers, e mi va a scatti perchè non ho attiva l'accelerazione 3d... :(

Sapresti come fare ad attivarla?

Se hai gli effetti di kde attivi l'accelerazione dovresti averla già. Dai
glxinfo | grep rendering

Riporta il log di x, che trovi in /var/log/Xorg.0.log.

Potresti provare con EXA, ormai è maturo negli open e c'è una bella differenza con XAA

prova a mettere queste righe su xorg.conf:

Se non hai creato uno xorg.conf, con la Slackware 13.0 dovrebbe andare tutto in automatico!! Naturalmente le performance sono ridotte rispetto ad un eventuale driver proprietario... Però se glxinfo ti dice Direct Rendering: Yes, allora c'è tutto...

Io ho una ATI Mobility Radeon X1400, con chip R525 (mi sembra), ma usa tutta l'infrastruttura degli R300...
Ed ho OpenGL, tant'è che OpenArena va ad una media di 40-50 fps al massimo delle impostazioni, con una risoluzione di 1440x900...

Io ho una ATI Mobility Radeon X1400, con chip R525 (mi sembra), ma usa tutta l'infrastruttura degli R300...
Ed ho OpenGL, tant'è che OpenArena va ad una media di 40-50 fps al massimo delle impostazioni, con una risoluzione di 1440x900...
