Come montare directory condivisa samba (security=share)?

Se avete problemi con l'installazione e la configurazione di Slackware postate qui. Non usate questo forum per argomenti generali... per quelli usate Gnu/Linux in genere.

Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata, la versione del Kernel e magari anche la versione della libreria coinvolta. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Per evitare confusione prego inserire in questo forum solo topic che riguardano appunto Slackware, se l'argomento è generale usate il forum Gnu/Linux in genere.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute.
4) Scrivere i messaggi con il colore di default, evitare altri colori.
5) Scrivere in Italiano o in Inglese, se possibile grammaticalmente corretto, evitate stili di scrittura poco chiari, quindi nessuna abbreviazione tipo telegramma o scrittura stile SMS o CHAT.
6) Appena registrati è consigliato presentarsi nel forum dedicato.

La non osservanza delle regole porta a provvedimenti di vari tipo da parte dello staff, in particolare la non osservanza della regola 5 porta alla cancellazione del post e alla segnalazione dell'utente. In caso di recidività l'utente rischia il ban temporaneo.

Come montare directory condivisa samba (security=share)?

Non riesco a montare una directory condivisa presente su 192.168.1.101 ( darkstar server samba) da un altro pc ( 192.168.1.100 Efesto il client con linux...) L'operazione riesce da qualsiasi pc con windows ma non da linux.
Riesco a fare il ping tramite shell, ma non riesco a montare da essa:

Penso che l'errore sia indicato proprio lì: probabilmente la directory condivisa non si chiama shared ma Shared.
Controlla con

Se ti chiede una password, lasciala vuota.

Non vorrei dire una castroneria. Ma sei sicuro che di devi accedere come 'shared' e non come 'condiviso'? Dato che mi sembra quest'ultimo il nome che hai dato al "link"?

Però non ne capisco niente di samba ed ho fatto solo una rapida ricerca su internet, ma che non vuol dire nulla,

è proprio così... è pensare che è da tre ore che cerco su internet! Mi pare la barzelletta della conserva di pomodoro tra marito e moglie.... comunque grazie!

Ni, in effetti sono riuscito a montare la directory pero' alcuni dubbi:
1- perchè è necessario essere root per montare queste directory? non è che si puo' creare un gruppo.
2- come mai se metto il nome del server a posto dell'IP "non monta" ?

Se aggiungi l'entry corrispondente a /etc/fstab e specifichi l'opzione users (non sono sicuro che mount.cifs la usi, però), dovrebbe essere possibile montare la condivisione anche da utente non privilegiato.

Probabilmente perché mount.cifs non usa il netbios per risolvere i nomi. Puoi risolvere facilmente aggiungendo un'entry a /etc/hosts.
