[RISOLTO] wicd: Nessuna rete wireless trovata

Se avete problemi con l'installazione e la configurazione di Slackware postate qui. Non usate questo forum per argomenti generali... per quelli usate Gnu/Linux in genere.

Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata, la versione del Kernel e magari anche la versione della libreria coinvolta. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Per evitare confusione prego inserire in questo forum solo topic che riguardano appunto Slackware, se l'argomento è generale usate il forum Gnu/Linux in genere.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute.
4) Scrivere i messaggi con il colore di default, evitare altri colori.
5) Scrivere in Italiano o in Inglese, se possibile grammaticalmente corretto, evitate stili di scrittura poco chiari, quindi nessuna abbreviazione tipo telegramma o scrittura stile SMS o CHAT.

La non osservanza delle regole porta a provvedimenti di vari tipo da parte dello staff, in particolare la non osservanza della regola 5 porta alla cancellazione del post e alla segnalazione dell'utente. In caso di recidività l'utente rischia il ban temporaneo.

Ti manca il firmware, ecco perché non va:

Prova così,
apri un terminale e dai:

git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/dwmw2/linux-firmware.git


Al termine della "clonazione" troverai una directory 'linux-firmware/'
Ora, da root:
Codice: Seleziona tutto
mkdir -v /lib/firmware/brcm

cp -iv linux-firmware/brcm/*.fw /lib/firmware/brcm/


Fatto questo, prova a rimuovere il modulo e a ricaricarlo:

modprobe -r -v brcm80211
modprobe -v brcm80211


E vedi che dice ora il comando dmesg.

Aspettate un attimo. Ma voi siete sicuri che il firmware non ci sia. Nella mia Slackware (che però è una current) il firmware in questione si trova nel pacchetto kernel-firmware. DrSlump, sei sicuro che il pacchetto citato ce l'hai installato?

Nel kernel-firmware della 13.37 non c'è, in current come hai detto tu sì.

A questo punto mi chiedo: anziché prendere i firmware da debian o dal git del kernel, non potrà direttamente installare/aggiornare il pacchetto da current? Forse è la cosa + semplice.

fai un controllo nella directory /lib/firmware e vedi se hai copiato correttamente il tutto, se hai seguito il mio consiglio o quello di rik70 il risultato dovrebbe essere identico.
vista la problematica, secondo il mio modesto parere nn conviene aggiornare alla current
ho visto cose che voi astemi non potete immaginare

Prova a rinominare entrambi i file eliminando la parte finale '-610.809.0'. Senza riavviare, non serve, devi dare:

Nel kernel-firmware della 13.37 non c'è, in current come hai detto tu sì.

A questo punto mi chiedo: anziché prendere i firmware da debian o dal git del kernel, non potrà direttamente installare/aggiornare il pacchetto da current? Forse è la cosa + semplice.
Allora forse la cosa si spiega, avendo anche quel firmware non capivo cosa potesse non andare. Però è simpatico che Pat abbia compilato il modulo ma non inserito il firmware :).

Per la tua domanda, forse si, in effetti i firmware dovrebbero dipendere poco dal modulo che lo usa, anche se a volte il firmware aggiunge o toglie funzioni che poi il modulo deve saper gestire. Se la soluzione che ho postato prima non dovesse funzionare, si potrebbe sempre passare tutto il kernel alla current: immagine, moduli e firmware.
