Problema scheda video Intel

Buongiorno ragazzi, ieri ho acquistato un notebook HP 630 B815 ed ho provato subito ad installare Slackware 13.1
L'installazione va tutto a meraviglia, l'unico problema è quando avvio X.

facendo qualche ricerca su internet ho visto che il driver usato è "i915", che è correttamente caricato in "lsmod".
Inoltre vi posto di xorg.conf riguardante la scheda video:

Stesso problema. Ho provato anche la 13.17 ma il problema è analogo.
Avete qualche idea?

Dal listato che riporti sembra che il tuo sistema sia un core i5/i7 Sandy Bridge, ovvero con VGA integrata nel processore.
Il supporto a Sandy Bridge ha fatto passi da gigante negli ultimi kernel e mesa 8.0 (addirittura è già presente il supporto preliminare ad Ivy Bridge che non è ancora sul mercato), percui dovresti procurarti versioni aggiornate di almeno questi due pacchetti.
Per mesa, se vuoi, posso procurarti un pacchetto compilato da git qualche giorno fa su Slackware64 13.37.

Grazie a tutti per le risposte...Adesso sto provando a compilare un kernel 3.2.9, ho letto da qualche parte che dal kernel 2.6.37 in su non dovrebbe verificarsi questo problema...Provare per credere...

Niente da fare anche con il nuovo kernel 3.2.9 fa lo stesso problema...
Se cancello il file /etc/X11/xorg.conf mi parte in vesamode....
Qualche idea a riguardo? 414N che pacchetti dovrei aggiornare?

Dato che il problema è X, dovresti aggiornare xf86-video-intel in primis e poi mesa (che comporta anche l'aggiornamento di libdrm).
Dovresti essere in grado di pacchettizzare tutto quanto usando gli SlackBuild presenti nel ramo source/ di Slackware, modificando opportunamente le versioni.

A me sembra che hai semplicemente sbagliato driver. Probabilmente il driver 'intel' di X non è quello corretto per la tua scheda video. Potresti postare l'output di:

prima di ricompilate "selvagge", prova i pacchetti del ramo testing
(sono per 64 bit)

Per quanto riguarda jimmy, uso un sistema a 32bit e rinominando/rimuovendo xorg.conf funziona X ma con i driver vesa.
Unica risoluzione disponibile 1024x768 e si vede anche malissimo.

Niente da fare, nemmeno aggiornando questi due pacchetti ho risolto.
Il problema è sempre lo stesso, l'errore nello xorg è analogo e rinominando xorg.conf ottengo sempre X in vesa mode.
A questo punto mi sorge un dubbio, secondo me come dice spina il driver che carica non è quello adatto.

Hai provato altre distro?

E' piuttosto strano, perché sin da slackware 13.1 non dovresti mettere mano a nessun file di configurazione. Se la VGA è supportata, Xorg dovrebbe caricare automaticamente il driver corretto.

Prova ad eliminare/spostare il file xorg.conf e a postare il log di X una volta lanciata la sessione grafica. Anche dmesg potrebbe aiutare a capire se succede qualcosa di strano.

Effettivamente, come già suggerito, provare a partire con un Xorg senza file di configurazione potrebbe risolvere. Inoltre, c'è questa opzione per Xorg ce potrebbe darti una mano:

A dire il vero appena acquistato c'era installato suse e funzionava benissimo...non sono amante di queste distro...comunque appena possibile vi posto xorg.log dopo aver cancellato xorg.conf... Ho aggiunto quelle righe perché non mi funzionava muose e tastiera...perdonatemi sto dal cell appena possibile vi posto tutto
