Slackware for international Dummies page

introduction

Welcome to the Slackware 4 international Dummies project webpage...
I've decided to dedicate a small space on these pages to explain what the "S4iD" project is. In order for me to do so, I have to start from explaining what Slackware 4 Dummies is, it's a book written by Mauro "samiel" Sacchetto, which takes the Slackware user from the first installation to the final setup of the system, explaining in detail a lot of aspects of Slackware and becoming the real key book for every slacker, and for every GNU/Linux user too...

So this is Slackware 4 Dummies, a sort of bible for the GNU/Linux Slackware user, but only for italian ones, in fact the book is in italian since its first ediction (now you can find the third and a forth one is being written right now), and there comes the S4iD project, it was a common idea between Slacky users that S4D was too good to remain an isolated manual localized for a small (but amazing) community, and there started the project, at the very beginning there was a bit of confusion, which chapter, which format, and so on, after the initial confusion the project started taking its shape and today it has become a big project with a lot of people working on it

the project organization

This project is so vast because S4D himself is really vast, that's why we thought to use Slacky's documentation section to better administrate the project, and that's the result.
The whole section is dedicated only at collecting translation booking from everyone who wants to partecipate and let the results be available to everyone who wants to know how much have been translated.

why is this page here?

This page is here only as a way for me to say thanks to everyone who helped with the translation and it's there to let me say thanks to Loris for letting me mantain this great project (as long as this small piece of web too).
