Se avete problemi con l'installazione e la configurazione di Slackware postate qui. Non usate questo forum per argomenti generali... per quelli usate Gnu/Linux in genere.

Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata, la versione del Kernel e magari anche la versione della libreria coinvolta. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Per evitare confusione prego inserire in questo forum solo topic che riguardano appunto Slackware, se l'argomento è generale usate il forum Gnu/Linux in genere.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute.

5) Scrivere in Italiano o in Inglese, se possibile grammaticalmente corretto, evitate stili di scrittura poco chiari, quindi nessuna abbreviazione tipo telegramma o scrittura stile SMS o CHAT.

La non osservanza delle regole porta a provvedimenti di vari tipo da parte dello staff, in particolare la non osservanza della regola 5 porta alla cancellazione del post e alla segnalazione dell'utente. In caso di recidività l'utente rischia il ban temporaneo.

Con i driver intel ottengo diversi errori...

usando i driver VGA a 8bit ottengo un

AIGLX: DRI module not loaded

e poi problemi con la tastiera riguardo xkbcomp

ricordo che c'è un comando per indirizzare l'output di un comando su un file di testo, qualcosa tipo

startx | cat nome_file

Se mi dite il comando vi posto l'output completo!!!

Devi configurare il file /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Purtroppo, o per fortuna per alcuni compreso me, spesso bisogna mettere mano direttamente ai file di configurazione.

Posta il tuo xorg.conf che lo sistemiamo per andare con vesa, e poi fai le prove. Sempre leggendo la documentazione e modificando il file di configurazione.

Solo così potrai raggiungere lo Slack ;-)

A dir la verità, abituato a windows, sono sempre reticente a modificare le configurazioni a mano... mi sa che mi ci dovrò abituare....

comunque, scritto il file e lanciato startx ottengo:

UPDATE
ho visto che un portatile toshiba, sistemiamo anche la tastiera con calma

La risoluzione l'ho cambiata quindi a 1024

Guarda questo link se non l'hai già visto, e fai delle prove con quel file xorg, senza paura di modificare a mano le cose. Sopratutto per tastiera e touchpad, che io non ho messo.
Prima salvati quelli vecchi in qualche modo

Richiede i driver synaptics, aspetta qualcuno sul forum che li ha installati io non ho esperienza

Prima prova con i driver vesa comunque, poi passa all'intel

Ho modificato il file, ed è tutto uguale tranne che nn compare più la riga relativa all'errore di AIGLX...

Adesso comunque provo un pò col il link che mi hai dato, vediamo se risolvo con quello!!!

Da quel che vedo hai reinstallato tutti i pacchetto dentro x/ vero?

dovrai abituartici si, soprattutto su Slackware.. a parte che questi problemi te li evitavi tutti se facevi un installazione full come consigliato dall'installer. Per esperienza personale comunque su Slackware lo sbattimento è tutto iniziale. Una volta che ti sei configurato la distro come si deve, poi semplicemente la usi.

L'errore è sicuramente derivante dai font o dai percorsi sui font, come si evince dall'errore
Fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed'
giving up.
Basta leggere =) segui il consiglio di conraid ed andrà tutto bene.
Mi permetto di aggiungere che l'ideale sarebbe, dopo aver installato i font, rieseguire gli script di creazione della cache. Lo puoi fare in comodità tramite pkgtool (Setup -> mkfontdir e fontconfig)

bhe, ho acceso il pc per fare i tentativi di cui mi avete scritto, e il pc mi ha accolto con un graziosissimo:

Allora, qualcosa è cambiato....

ho visto lo schermo del kde, ma era molto disturbato, tanto che stavo per stacare la corrente, temendo che lo schermo si danneggiasse....
Poi ho incominciato ad intravedere il desktop, allora sono riuscito a terminare la sessione di kde. Al ritorno in modalità testo c'erano una serie di errori più o meno tutti uguali:
X Error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter) 3

Minor Opcode: 0
Resource id: 0xa00005
Pensate che se rifaccio l'installazione d'accapo senza escludere nulla la cosa si risolva? o almeno migliori??

comunque, mi sa che ci siamo quasi...
Adesso provo a mettere lo xorg.conf trovato al sito indicatomi da Conraid...
Vediamo che succede!!!

Vi scrivo dalla macchina incriminata.....

Ho usato il file xorg.conf fornito nel link di conraid, senza mettere i riferimenti ai driver synaptic di cui si parla lì!!!

il touch pad funziona, e anche tutto il resto sembra andare...

adesso devo cercare di settare il tutto al meglio, tipo accellerazione grafica ecc...

ma lo si fa con più calma!!!!
