kernel 2.6.6 da slackware current

Molto ingenuamente ho provato ad installare il kernel 2.6.6 che si trova nella sezione testing della slk-current. Ho installato tutti i pacchetti presenti nella dir, rimuovendo il kernel attuale (2.4.26). Risultato: kernel panic, non riesce a montare il fs di root . :-[. Ho recuperato il "vecchio" kernel con l´aiuto di un recovery floppy e ora il mio PC r-ifunziona.
<BR>Qualcuno conosce una procedura un po´ piu´ intelligente per fare questo upgrading?

Si´ ti scarichi i sources da kernel.org e ti ricompili tutto !
