Problema scanner usb

Ciao a tutti,
<BR>dopo il passaggio all´ultima current, (slackware 10.0 o quasi ;-) ) ho sotituito tutti gli *.new con le nuove versioni. Lo scanner però non funziona più...o meglio, viene rilevato da sane-find-scanner ma quando cerco di usare un programma di scansione, questo ci mette moltissimo ad aprirsi, poi quando cerco di scannizzare xsane mi dice che il dispositivo è occupato!
