Ciao a tutti...ho da poco acquistato una pannina wireless, sbadatamente dalla fretta non ho controllato se fosse supportata da linux, la mia domanda ora è, c'è qualche possibilità che riesca a funzionare in qualche modo?

A questo punto l' unica cosa che puoi fare è ... inserire il dispositivo USB e dare i comando
e postare l' output ... 
Comunque io che sono stato attento ... ne ho comprata una dove c' era scritto "Compatible with .../Linux" e ho beccato una fregatura ... ecco il thread c' é scritto risolto ... ma leggi i miei post l:-(

Il kernel di Linux ha la caratteristica di poter avere i driver modulari o statici (built-in). Nel caso in cui siano moduli allora bisogna caricarli in modo che il kernel possa far funzionare (o meglio usare) un dispositivo hardware (ad esempio una scheda di rete). Nel caso in cui siano built-in sono integrati nel kernel e quindi non c'è necessità di caricarli. Il vantaggio di avere un kernel modulare è che si può avere un kernel molto piccolo (essenziale) per quello che è il proprio hardware senza avere driver integrati che non si useranno mai. Lo svantaggio è che devi conoscere molto bene il tuo hardware. Questa brevissima spiegazione è giusto per farti capire cos'è un modulo. Per informazioni più dettagliate o tecniche trovi tanta documentazione su Internet.
Quindi per "caricare" un modulo si usano i seguenti comandi:
1) insmod nome_modulo (inserisce solo nome_modulo)
2) modprobe nome_modulo (inserisce nome_modulo più tutti i moduli che hanno una qualche dipendenza con nome_modulo)
Per "scaricare" un modulo si usano i seguenti comandi:
1) rmmod nome_modulo
2) modprobe -r nome_modulo
Hanno l'effetto contrario dei primi due comandi.

Se con ti compare nella lista automaticamente lo dovrebbe trovare facendo altrimenti non lo tieni come modulo

Lascia stare la configurazione con drivers nativi per Linux. Da quanto si legge su Internet tutti la configurano con ndiswrapper.
Ritornando indietro. Perchè ti blocchi ad "unzip drivers.zip"??
Scarica i drivers da qui e metteli dentro ad un'unica directory (scarica tutto quello che troverai):

Segui questa guida e vedi se riesci a fare qualcosa:

Segui la guida solo dal punto in cui fa l'installazione dei drivers (che per questa chiavetta sono due!!!). L'installazione di ndiswrapper falla (se non l'hai ancora fatto) attraverso il pacchetto per Slackware.
Stai attento perchè nella guida c'è scritto che non funziona con ndiswrapper 1.25-27. Nella guida è stata usata la versione 1.34 (ma credo che anche se ne hai una più nuova va bene).
Ovviamente una volta che hai installato i drivers e ti sei accertato che l'hardware è OK fermati perchè la guida continua con la configurazione wireless per OpenSuse.
Poi vediamo come configurare il wireless.
