Se avete problemi con l'installazione e la configurazione di Slackware postate qui. Non usate questo forum per argomenti generali... per quelli usate Gnu/Linux in genere.

Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata, la versione del Kernel e magari anche la versione della libreria coinvolta. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Per evitare confusione prego inserire in questo forum solo topic che riguardano appunto Slackware, se l'argomento è generale usate il forum Gnu/Linux in genere.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute.

Ciao,
ho appena aggiornato la mia sclacky di test passando dal kernel 2.6.32.7 al 2.6.33 ma ho un problema:
dopo aver aggiornato tutti i pacchetti con slackpkg ed aggiunto quelli nuovi, ho ricompilato il kernel partendo da quello huge-smp e riconfigurato lilo.
Quando avvio comincia a caricare ma dopo pochissimi secondi (2 o 3) mentre scorrono le righe il monitor si spegne.
Vedo il led della memoria che continua a lampeggiare, sembrerebbe che linux va avanti a caricare il sistema ma al monitor non arrivi più il segnale...

Si vede che alle 18:35:26 mi sono loggato (a monitor spento ho messo l'utente, invio, la password e invio),
mentre alle 18:36:08 ho premuto ctrl+alt+canc.

Cosa può essere che sballa il segnale al monitor??

P.S. - Il monitor va bene, tant'è che lo uso con la slackware da cui vi scrivo, che è quella su cui non faccio esperimenti...

prova a blacklistare il modulo nouveu. Probabilmente s'intrippa.

Hai problemi con il modesetting. Usi il driver nouveau che vedo caricare? Hai una scheda nvidia?
Non è detto che il tuo sia un problema risolvibile, ad es. con le schede intel non c'è molto da fare. Una cosa è gerta: meglio usare il kernel generic che lo huge. Dai un'occhiata a questo thread:

Se hai nvidia è il modulo nouveau che va blacklistato, faceva la stessa cosa anche a me.

Funziona, mettendo in blacklist nouveau il monitor rimane acceso, ora non riesco ad installare i driver nvidia, ma questa è un'altra storia.
Già che ci sono provo a ricompilare i generic-smp e togliere il nouveau da lì...

Probabilmente basta aggiungerlo nel file:

Codice: Seleziona tutto

/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

P.S. In realtà basta inserire in un qualsiasi file di quella directory la parola chiave "blacklist nomemodulo", vedi modprobe.conf(5)

per il 2.6.33 ci sono i driver 190.53 e una patch da dare; su LQ c'è un tread su questo problemino.

Per i driver nvidia come dice erio c'è una patch:
