Un problema di Gnome Slacky -RISOLTO-

Hey everybody,

I've installed Slackware 12.1 and GSlacky 2.22.2 but I'm facing a problem here.
When I start doing something ( what ever... ) it starts to lag and it's running extremely slow... something that never happened before ( when I was using slackware 12.0 and dropline )
I've reconfigured my kernel exactly as it should be but still the same...
I have a Pentium 4 HT with lspci:

Codice: Seleziona tutto

00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82915G/P/GV/GL/PL/910GL Memory Controller Hub (rev 04)
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82915G/GV/910GL Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 04)
00:1c.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) PCI Express Port 1 (rev 03)
00:1d.0 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) USB UHCI #1 (rev 03)
00:1d.1 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) USB UHCI #2 (rev 03)
00:1d.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) USB UHCI #3 (rev 03)
00:1d.7 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) USB2 EHCI Controller (rev 03)
00:1e.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 82801 PCI Bridge (rev d3)
00:1e.2 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 03)
00:1f.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FR (ICH6/ICH6R) LPC Interface Bridge (rev 03)
00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FW (ICH6/ICH6W) SATA Controller (rev 03)
00:1f.3 SMBus: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) SMBus Controller (rev 03)
02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5751 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express (rev 11)
0a:00.0 Multimedia audio controller: Ensoniq ES1370 [AudioPCI] (rev 01)

At this point I haven't configured APG for my video card but I'm working on it.

So to clear the picture:
When I start doing something in Gnome on every 2-3 sec CPU goes to 100% for 3-4 seconds and again goes to 0-10% and this repeats all the time. When I wrote "top" it showed me that only X is taking 80-90% of CPU...

Is it me or I've missed something ?

P.S. I'm studying italian at school but it's my first year so ... please don't make me get out my dictionary to translate from italian :)

Auguri sinceri,
tftd

Hi tftd try to disable the visual assistive technology. Go in Preferences > Sessions and disable the at-spi daemon. Than restart the desktop.
