Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata, la versione del Kernel e magari anche la versione della libreria coinvolta. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.

La non osservanza delle regole porta a provvedimenti di vari tipo da parte dello staff, in particolare la non osservanza della regola 5 porta alla cancellazione del post e alla segnalazione dell'utente. In caso di recidività l'utente rischia il ban temporaneo.

Ma accidenti ... proprio una scheda ISA .. !!!!
... ma per fare i test potevi scegliere qualcosa di Plug n' Play così é tutto più difficile ... é probabile che tu debba dare un opzione nel file lts.conf per caricare il modulo giusto dal momento che sei senza autoriconoscimento ... riesci ad eseguire il boot solo perché hai il corretto boot disk ...
Ma che scheda di rete hai ???
Comunque nel file lts.conf esiste l' opzione

ho provato a caricare il modulo da lts.conf ma niente...
eppure secondo me non è questo, in quanto dopo aver caricato il kernel sembra che la sheda di rete sia riconosciuta

la scheda di rete è una 3com 3c509

provo a fare un tentativo dal mio pc e vedo se percaso da qui va :!: :)

aggiornamento, ho provato a fare un boot da un'altra macchina che supporta il netboot dal bios; si pianta comunque ma sembra che la cosa vada un pò meglio, syslogd prende i messaggi dalla workstation:

Ciao cointreau...
sembra che qualcosa si sia mosso ma é probabile che tu debba rifinire l' installazione .... se non vedi andare lo schermo in modalità grafica é probabile che l'autoconfigurazione della scheda non vada a buon fine ...
Prova a modificare il file lts..conf in modo da mettere il driver Vesa e avere una
shell ... se non va ancora prova a postarlo..

dunque, ho provato per curiosità eduknoppix che ha già tutto pronto per ltsp e il pc vetusto parte senza nessun problema...

allora mi sono chiesto... "se da qui parte senza modifiche da driver esterni.. perchè non dovrebbe anche dalla mia slack?"

ho provato a dare un'occhiata ai file di conf ma è un casino estremo... è tutto organizzato diversamente...

:roll: ...e io che cercavo una scappatoia per non usare quella roba dal sito 3com...

Ma quanti sono i PC con le 3com ??
Per motivi di prestazioni ti consiglio vivamente di sostituire le schede a 10Mbit ISA con delle schede PCI a 100 Mbit ... vanno benissimo le comuni Realtek 8139x PCI

... così con poca spesa il computer ha un' altra resa .. :-)

eheheh le prove le faccio a casa con un p200 alternando le schede di rete per provare

per poi mettere in pratica il tutto con una decina di 486 che non hanno slot pci tutti forniti della stessa medesima maledetta scheda che tralatro mi freeza il server

ho appena provato a usare tcp invece di udp.. ma il tutto freeza prima :P in giornata provo l'ultility sul sito 3com che consigliano anche nella mailing list di ltsp

sto anche provando [senza risultati per ora] a cercare come e dove configura tutto eduknoppix

appena ho qualche novità posto qui ;)
