CF 0.5 worked, with some issues, but 0.5.2 prints this error...
First make sure you have all dependacies installed (pycairo, pygobject, pygtk, libsexy, sexy-pyt) If using Gnome they should, standard installation of KDE doesn't provide such libraries. They are not strictly required by compiz, but configuration tools such as ccsm and emerald config do not work without.
You also need to launch compiz with plugins. The simplest method is you launch it with ccp (a sort of plugin of plugins) this way
compiz --replace ccp &
followed by ie
emerald --replace &
or if you want
kde-window-decorator --replace &
If you do not enable any window decorator you'll get no bordered windows
Hope this helps
ciao
You said compiz 0.50 was working for you, so your /etc/xorg.conf should be fine.
Can you tell us what packages did you install exactly ?
I suspect there something missing. Please consider compiz 0.50 was the last release from "compiz" before they joined the "fusion" group. His structure is slighty different from the further compiz-fusion which do not have windows decorators built in. (they are separate packages). I'd suggest you have a look here, may be you find what went wrong with your installation http://wiki.compiz-fusion.org/
Hope this helps
