Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata, la versione del Kernel e magari anche la versione della libreria coinvolta. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Per evitare confusione prego inserire in questo forum solo topic che riguardano appunto Gnu/Linux in genere, se l'argomento è specifico alla Slackware usate uno dei forum Slackware o Slackware64.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute

5) Scrivere in Italiano o in Inglese, se possibile grammaticalmente corretto, evitate stili di scrittura poco chiari, quindi nessuna abbreviazione tipo telegramma o scrittura stile SMS o CHAT.
6) Appena registrati è consigliato presentarsi nel forum dedicato.

La non osservanza delle regole porta a provvedimenti di vari tipo da parte dello staff, in particolare la non osservanza della regola 5 porta alla cancellazione del post e alla segnalazione dell'utente. In caso di recidività l'utente rischia il ban temporaneo.

Secondo me per quanto riguarda l'estensione FVD che ho riportato è proprio differnte nelle due versioni, quell aper chromium e quella per firefox.
Non so se avete installato MPV come player video.
Se è così potete fare il test voi stessi, tanto per capire cosa intendo:

- aggiungere l'estenzione FVD sia su chromium che su firefox
- aprire una finestra di MPV
- aprire uno dei due browser e collegarsi ad una pagina che contiene un video in flash
- mettere la finestra browser in modalità ridimensionata in modo che non occupi tutto lo schermo così da avere visibili sia la finestra di MPV che quella del browser
- fare partire il video se necessario altrimenti se l'icona "freccia azzurra" in alto a destra nel browser si è già accesa cliccarvi sopra
- scende il menù a tendina con i links dei video rilevati nella pagina
- trascinare un link dalla tendina alla finestra di MPV ecco che il video parte nel player
- veerificare che il trascinamento in chromium funziona, mentre in firefox no.

In firefox uso un workaround un po' più scomodo:
- copio il link cliccando sull'apposito bottone nel menù a tendina di FVD
- apro una nuova scheda e incollo il link nella barra degli indirizzi
- seleziono il link incollato cliccando due volte nella barra indirizzi
- trascino il link selezionato dalla barra indirizzi alla finestra di MPV

funizona anche se un po' meno diretto...

scusate, ho seguito solo sommariamente il thread ... uso firefox ESR, il metodo suggerito per ottenere l'ultima stabile è il seguente:

che però restituisce la 52.8.0esr ... mentre esiste la 60.0esr

A me "trotto" aveva consigliato lo script di ruario che mi pare funzionare alla grande.
Vado in "/tmp" e lo eseguo, e lì mi crea un pacchetto slackware che vado ad installare aggiornando il precedente firefox.

Firefox con l'introduzione di Quantum è diventato una scheggia, tranne su mobile, dove non è stato ancora portato.

Nessun problema, era una comodità in più ma anche così è più che accettabile.

Voler far girare i video in MPV deriva dal fatto che così la CPU resta molto meno impegnata rispetto alla riproduzione dei video con flashpalyer integrato nel browser (ma anche rispetto all'HTML5 di youtube tanto per intenderci... in quel caso basta trascinare il titolo del video nella finesrtra del player, non serve FVD).

Con HTML 5 il browser usa l'accelerazione della mia Nvidia 1050, cosa che flash non ha mai sfruttato.

Ne sono certo perché la CPU non è quasi utilizzata durante la riproduzione dei video in HTML 5.
Complimenti per il sample, Claudio Messora è una persona libera ed onesta intellettualmente.

Come vedi dagli screen "top" conferma il carico della mia CPU molto più alto riproducendo dal browser rispetto al player mpv.
Nel caso in questione ho fatto il test con firefox, ma anche con chromium è uguale...

Come dicevo può essere che nel tuo caso html5 sfrutti qualche funzionalità della tua scheda video che invece la mia scheda economica non ha.

Ti passo tutto il resoconto della pagina esportata in testo semplice, il "compsiting" è su "basic, mentre l GPU ha parecchia roba unavailble oppure "blocked by default", se vedi qualcosa che posso impostare per tentare di migliorare dimmi pure! :)

Penso però che il problema sia legato a VDPAU, probabilmente è lì che MPV fa la differenza in termini rispetto al browser.
Ricordo infatti di aver settato qualcosa in passato.... eccolo nel ~/.config/mpv/mpv.conf

Se non sbaglio fierfox, ma anche chromium, non supportano VDPAU per i video html5.
Nonostante accelerazione hardware attivata infatti rilevo comunque un carico CPU molto più alto rispetto a MPV durante la riproduzione video html5 nel browser.
Per cui direi che non c'è molto che io possa fare.
