Slackware 15.0 x86_64 stable is released!

Another too-long development cycle is behind us after we bit off more than
we could chew and then had to shine it up to a high-gloss finish. Hopefully
we've managed to get the tricky parts out of the way so that we'll be able
to see a 15.1 incremental update after a far shorter development cycle.
Certainly the development infrastructure has been streamlined here and things
should be easier moving forward. My thanks to the rest of the Slackware team,
all the upstream developers who have given us such great building materials,
the folks on LinuxQuestions.org and elsewhere for all the help with testing,
great suggestions, and countless bug fixes, and to everyone who helped
support this project so that the release could finally see the light of day.
I couldn't have done any of this without your help, and I'm grateful to all
of you. Thanks!

Slackware 15.0 is released!
Hey folks! It's been a long time, but as usual we had to get everything just exactly perfect, and you just can't rush that. We are very happy to announce the availability of the new Slackware 15.0 stable release. There have been way too many changes to even begin to cover them here, but for our dedicated user base suffice to say that you'll find things modern but also familiar. We've gone with the 5.15.19 Linux kernel (part of the 5.15.x kernel series that will be getting long-term support from the kernel developers). You'll also enjoy a refreshed desktop experience including the KDE Plasma 25th Anniversary Edition with support for Wayland sessions.

Build scripts for all kinds of additional software for Slackware 15.0 can be found on the slackbuilds.org website.

Io invece non ho reinstallazioni da fare, non c'è un repository slacky da gestire, quindi a parte il rilascio di slackpkg+ mi impatta relativamente.

Oh cavolo, sono in ritardo di una decina di giorni con gli aggiornamenti della current. In pratica mi ritrovo una unstable operativa meno aggiornata delle stable. Solo io riesco a trovarmi in queste situazioni!?

se non volete aspettare potete usare il ramo master del git di SBo (o il mio repository per current che in questo momento, più o meno, è allineato a quel ramo)

Fa piacere sapere che Slack è ancora viva, anche se ... flame mode on non mi trovo affatto male con systemctl muhahahaha

Pat non ha mai escluso systemd. Per ora non c'è. In questa release invece ha messo kdet e Pam a cui per tanto tempo ha detto no. Arriverà il momento in cui non potrà più dire no a systemd che man mano sta entrando sempre più prepotentemente come dipendenza quasi obbligata in tanti software.

Da utilizzatore di slackware dalla versione 8 ho piano piano lasciato questo sistema dirigendomi verso le molto più supportate, ma mal sopportate, debian based.
Ora che finalmente si può installare una versione ufficiale ed aggiornata di Slackware ci voglio riprovare. Vorrei partire da un'installazione minimale, magari da netboot, e quindi installare pacchetto per pacchetto (ovviamente senza curarmi delle dipendenze, alle quali penserà il package manager) e tornare a prenderci la mano.
C'è una guida a tal proposito?

Il package manager non si occupa delle dipendenze, per questo di solito si fa una installazione full togliendo ciò che non serve invece del contrario.

Se vuoi un set di pacchetti super minimale da installare vedi il template lxc in /usr/share/lxc o /usr/doc/lxc*

in Slackware non esiste la risoluzione delle dipendenze.
