ho una sack 10.2 con xorg 6.8 e kernel 2.6.14
ho installato gli ultimi driver ATI per la mia 9700Moblity
l'istallazione è andata a buon fine e funziona tutto alla perfezione (3D)
all'uscita da kde, però, invece di riapparire la consolle, ho una scermata nera
fa parte dei problemi che hanno i driver ati o devo agire sul kernel?
ho installato gli ultimi driver ATI per la mia 9700Moblity
l'istallazione è andata a buon fine e funziona tutto alla perfezione (3D)
all'uscita da kde, però, invece di riapparire la consolle, ho una scermata nera
fa parte dei problemi che hanno i driver ati o devo agire sul kernel?

io invece ( xorg 6.9.2 ati 8.22.5, tutto funzionante) non ho problemi... a meno che non stia col pc acceso per più di 4-5 ore... dopo di che se esco da fluxbox crasha tutto, non posso far niente, neppure ctrl+alt+f1... lol...

Ho risolto impostando questa voce in xorg.conf:
Option "UseInternalAGPGART" "yes"
Se è impostata su no,sostituiscila con yes.Inoltre assicurati di aver compilato nel kernel come moduli agpgart e intel-agp, e carica i moduli in quest'ordine:
agpgart
intel-agp
fglrx
Verica se funziona tutto con:
glxinfo | grep "direct rendering" controlla che ci sia yes
Funziona anche con i drivers 8.23.7.Nel mio caso ha risolto il problema dello schermo nero dopo il logout di kde.

guarda dentro xorg.conf nella sezione ATI device section, voce Misc Options. Ci sarà una riga con scritto
UseInternalAGPGart controlla che sia impostato su yes.
Il framebuffer non è obbligatorio abilitarlo,solo che non potrai scegliere le modalità per avere una console ad "alta risoluzione".

Kde parte, funziona l'accelerazione 3D ATI, ma se esco da Kde ho schermo nero e non posso più fare nulla...
e abilita quello vesa(se vuoi il framebuffer.).Ricompila di nuovo i drivers e guarda se crasha di nuovo.
