DRIVER INTEL HD GRAPHICS 4000
Salve da poco ho un portatile Samsung ATIV 2 Book 2. Come distro ho messo la Slackware 14 utilizzando il kernel huge,smp e Fluxbox come manager delle finestre.
Ora la macchina monta una scheda grafica Intel Hd Graphics 4000, ma lanciando dmesg mi sembra che non ci sia,
perciò sono andato a vedere sul sito della Intel che mi rimanda al seguente indirizzo:

Nella schermata si possono vedere diversi download, ma quale devo scegliere tra i tanti? Esiste qualche sito con driver gia compilati oppure questo kernel già ha i driver?...intanto io continuo la ricerca
Ovviamente anche senza driver specifico riesco ad utilizzare la macchina egregiamente, solo che mi piacerebbe sfruttare al meglio la scheda.

Scusa, potresti postare l'output di
?
Basta anche solo la parte relativa al VGA Controller.
E poi posta il log di X.org.
Se non posti cose che facciano capire se il modulo i915 e il driver x11 intel siano stati caricati o meno, è impossibile darti una mano.
PS: Se proprio vuoi aggiornare lo stack grafico, fai prima a passare a Slackware 14.1 Beta.

PS: Usa il TAG CODE quando posti qualche output di comandi o log.
Il kernel supporta la tua scheda video, quindi ora bisogna vedere se è un problema di server grafico.lspci -v ha scritto:Kernel driver in use: i915

Gli output di lspci e del log di X11 parlano chiaro.

pensavo che il log dovesse dare come outpu il nome completo della scheda, come avveniva col fisso con l'ati radeon
