Regole del forum
1) Citare sempre la versione di Slackware usata e la versione del Kernel. Questi dati aiutano le persone che possono rispondere.
2) Citare il tipo di hardware coinvolto in modo dettagliato.
3) Leggere attentamente le risposte ricevute
4) Scrivere i messaggi con il colore di default, evitare altri colori.
5) Scrivere in Italiano o in Inglese, se possibile grammaticalmente corretto, evitate stili di scrittura poco chiari, quindi nessuna abbreviazione tipo telegramma o scrittura stile SMS o CHAT. Non usare termini gergali come procio, mobo e simili per identificare i componenti hardware.
6) Appena registrati è consigliato presentarsi nel forum dedicato.
La non osservanza delle regole porta a provvedimenti di vari tipo da parte dello staff, in particolare la non osservanza della regola 5 porta alla cancellazione del post e alla segnalazione dell'utente. In caso di recidività l'utente rischia il ban temporaneo.

Hd esterno non riconosciuto
Ciao, oggi ho collegato un mio hd esterno (che ha circa due anni di vita) dopo lungo tempo e non viene ne montato ne compare in dev/ (normalmente era sdb). Ricordo che l'ultima volta l'avevo collegato ad una tv e veniva riconosciuto. Non vorrei formattarlo perchè ho dentro dati che mi servono, ma anche volessi farlo non trovandolo è un po' impossibile.
Qualcuno ha un'idea?

in console fdisk -l ,a volte i device usb non compaiono come montati,se te lo vede lo monti a mano.

...fdisk già provato non fa risultare altro che il disco interno...infatti pensavo all'inizio che fosse un problema con thunar per il montaggio automatico dei dispositivi anche se tutte le altre chiavette vengono rilevate. Domani posto dmesg.

Comunque quello che viene riportato da dmesg è fondamentale per capire se il disco viene "sentito" oppure no.

considerazione forse stupida, ma che ho verificato sulla mia pelle.. controlla anche il cavo! a me capita spesso con device rimuovibili che cambiando il cavo alcuni hard disk che prima mi davano addirittura errori di I/O riprendessero a funzionare

Allora a disco inserito:
come in questo caso anche altri pc non lo rilevano, indipendentemente dal sistema operativo. Miklos, sto cominciando a pensare che sia proprio il cavo solo che, il disco è un lacie con cavo "incastrato" dentro, quindi mi è piuttosto complicato cambiarlo. Le spie che indicano l'alimentazione sono accese però...mah

Se devi recuperarne i dati, aprilo, controlla se il disco che c'è all'interno è un SATA, o un PATA (IDE) e poi compra, per una decina di euro, un box per collegare via un hard disk.
