Stampare ?!?

Ciao, ho letto un bel pò di discussioni nel sito e non ho trovato niente che mi potesse aiutare.
<BR>Ho installato la stampante con apsfilter, e ho decommentato il supporto della porta parallela in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules.
<BR>Quando provo a stampare ottengo i seguenti errori.

Anche io ho questo problema, e sto cercando di risolverlo: se non vado errato da root il seguente errore non te lo dovrebbe dare e se leggi il messaggio l´unica cosa che secondo me rappresenta il problema è che l´utente ha i privilegi per la stampante ma non per la porta su cui essa sta!!!

I permessi stanno alla base di moltissimi problemi che i neofiti, come me, devono risolvere. Ma questo della stampante non è uno di quelli.
<BR>Anche da root ricevo lo stesso tipo di errori!
<BR>La stampante si comporta come se stesse comunicando con un no so che cosa. (Rete?!?)
<BR>Con le precedenti versioni di Slack tutto funzionava alla perfezione.
<BR>Aspetto un consiglio da qualcuno che che mastica Slack alla perfezione! Useless, meritil, ZioLele..... etc. e il grande Lorys. (e tutti quelli che aiutano gli utenti Slackware)

<BR>P.S. In parte l´ho già fatto, ma colgo l´occasione per fare i complimenti a questa comunità.
<BR>E´ il sito che visito quotidianamente e che mi da le più grandi soddisfazioni. Forza GNU-Linux! E soprattutto W Slackware! Se ce la faccio io, Win***z ha le ore contate.

io non posso aiutarti purtroppo, dato che sono utente cups e non lpr/apsfilter. forse xò converrebbe anche a te cambiare, cups è decisamente + comodo e semplice.

Ho configurato CUPS seguendo il mini HOW-TO del sito.
<BR>Tutto è andato a buon fine e ho stampato una pagina di prova.
<BR>Però se cerco di stampare altro ottengo questo erore:

cambia il comando di stampa in lpr-cups.
<BR>o ancora meglio disinstalla lprng e reinstalla cups, il doinst.sh penserà a rendere il tutto invisibile.

Ok, ho disinstallato lprng e cups 1.20 e ho reinstallato cups 1.22 preso dalla current.
<BR>Quando mando qualcosa in stampa non ricevo più errori, ma stampa Unable to open the initial device, quitting. e lascia il resto del foglio bianco.
