Samsung Syncmaster 2032mw&driver radeon[RISOLTO]
Salute a tutti,
ho comprato oggi il sopracitato monitor/tv Syncmaster 2032mw,
la risoluzione ottimale è 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz. Ora modificando
xorg.conf a puntino con le frequenze giuste prese dal manuale la
risoluzione mi rimane sempre a 1024x768 e questo sinceramente
è fastidiosissimo. Ho una Ati Radeon 9250 euso i driver open,
Salckware 11.1, qualcuno sa se ci sono problemi con questi driver
ad una risoluzione così alta?
Ho googlato un po' ma non sono riuscito a trovare nulla. Idee?

Non devi solo impostare la frequenza ma anche la risoluzione che di default in xorg.conf non c'è, quindi va aggiunta manualmente.
In "Section dispalay" puoi aggiungere risoluzione che ti interessa prima delle altre, ma la devi mettere nel depth che usi, ovvero la profondità di colore che hai scelto.
Esempio:
Come puoi notare io la risoluzione di 1440x900 l'ho aggiunta solo in depth 24 che è la profondità del colore che uso, ma volendo puoi aggiungerla in tutte e tre, non ci sono problemi.
In "Section dispalay" puoi aggiungere risoluzione che ti interessa prima delle altre, ma la devi mettere nel depth che usi, ovvero la profondità di colore che hai scelto.

ricordati anche di impostare i timings delle frequenze! Per la generazione delle modeline puoi usare il sito http://xtiming.sourceforge.net/. Una volta fatto tutto, il tuo xorg dovrebbe avere un aspetto del genere:

È stranissimo che non funzioni, posta il log di x e vediamo che dice. Come fai ad avere i 32 bit di profondità di colore in xorg?
Riconfigura con xorgsetup il server e non mettere la modeline, aggiungi solo la risoluzione mancante in Screen, e inserisci i giusti range di frequenza del tuo monitor.

Ho riconfigurato, ma risultano sempre 32 bit di profondità
anche se gliene do 24, ma adesso il risultato è diverso,
schermata nera con scritta "Non Optmimal Mode, Optimal
Mode is 1680x1050 60Hz".
